Exciting Week 1 of Flag Football in the Books
The first week of the 2011 season of Flag Football turned out to be an exciting one with each game being decided within the final two minutes. The Raiders came out on top of the Ravens, 26-25 after scoring on the final play of the game. Garett Scott scored to tie the game as time expired in the second half after a Ravens penalty kept the Raiders in the game. Sam Lefton would add the extra point conversion to give the Raiders the one point victory.
Zach Orendorf scored two of the Titans three touchdowns in their victory over the Vikings, 18-16. Jonathan Stegemeier connected with Greg Smith for both of the Vikings scores, but fell short on their final drive in the final minute of regulation.
The Eagles prevailed in the first game of the season with a 33-20 victory over the Falcons. Ryan Williams threw five touchdown passes, two to his brother Kevin Williams, in the game. The Falcons Ian Shalk caught his second touchdown pass of the game as time was winding down, cutting the Eagles lead to 26-20 with four minutes left in the game. The Eagles converted on fourth and two to go on a deep touchdown pass to Dadrian Cropper to seal the deal against the Falcons.
