The Spurs put up 20 points in the second half alone to come away with a 24-21 victory over the Celtics. The Spurs, now 4-0 and tops in the league, won the game behind numerous fast breaks and great rebounding. Joe Sammons took over in the last five minutes of the contest, putting up a total of 18 points in the bout. The Celtics made it a game with great mid-range shooting behind Sean Regan and Jesse Mulligan, but the Celts and point guard Tim Pittman fell just short in the final seconds.
