The first week of the winter flag football league is now history. The opening game touted the Bengals and Titans against one another in an AFC match up, as the Bengals were deemed victorious with a 44-30 win. Returning Champion Coach John Perrone and his team, behind quarterback Jacob Hudson, showed their offensive dominance throughout the game, converting a long touchdown as time expired to cap the victory with a bang.
In the second game in the AFC, the Colts used a variety of trick plays and gimmicks on their way to a 33-0 shutout win over the Jets. The story was all defense, as the Colts recorded the first shutout of the season after forcing several interceptions and keeping the Jets to only one first down in the contest.
On Friday, the Saints and Bears went head to head, as the Bears came down with a late comeback win in the first game of the young season in the NFC, 26-22. A late touchdown drive, led by quarterback Dallas Towner, put the Bears within two points, 22-20, with three minutes left on the clock. On the Saints next possession, Garrett Scott of the Bears intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, giving the Bears the 26-22 lead within the last two minutes of the game. Dallas Towner then picked off another pass to end the Saints chance of a late comeback.
Game two of the NFC season pitted the Falcons against the Panthers, as the Falcons dominated the majority of the contest, pulling away with a 35-14 win. Quarterback James Hamory led the Redbirds down the field time and time again, throwing four touchdowns and only one interception.
