Week 3 of the PAL Spring Flag Football League proved to be one of the best yet, as Thursday's NFC match ups pitted the Saints against the Panthers and the undefeated Bears and Falcons against each other. In game one, the Saints won in overtime, beating the Panthers 52-46. The Saints' John Metz scored a number of touchdowns, both running, receiving, and even passing and helped carry the Saints to their second straight victory. Both teams battled back and forth, as the Panthers mounted a late comeback to send the game into overtime. Unfortunately for the Panthers, they were unable to score in overtime, sealing the Saints' victory.
Game two featured the last of the remaining undefeated teams, as the NFC best Falcons defeated the Bears 32-26. James Hamory led the Falcons offense, as their passing game seemed to be too much for the Bears defense to handle at times. The Bears hung in throughout the contest, but fell short on their late comeback, as a couple of turnovers early in the game proved costly in the end for the second place Bears.
On Friday, the Titans got their first win by defeating the Jets 35-15. The Titans seemed unstoppable, both on offense and defense, as they held the Jets to only one score in each half. Alec Bottari and Sebastian Stevens scored a pair of touchdowns each for the Titans while Jonathan Roberts scored the game's first touchdown on an interception return for the 1-2 team. The Jets scored both touchdowns on passes by Jake Somerville, as the dynamic running game by feature back, Trey Rogers, was stymied by the Titans stingy defense.
The last game of Week 3 featured a back and forth battle with the Colts coming out on top of the Bengals, 38-36. Michael Dellose caught two touchdown passes, as new quarterback David Robinson finished with four touchdown passes for the Colts. Nick and Luke Perrone were on the receiving end of two touchdown passes each from Jacob Hudson, who finished with five total touchdowns in the contest. However, a late safety on a bad snap was the difference in the football game, as the Bengals could not complete their comeback in the end.
Next week's game will feature interleague play across the board, with the highlight game being the first place Colts facing off against the 2-1 Bears of the NFC. The schedule is as follows:
Thursday February 11th
