The NFC continued its dominance, winning three of the four interleague matchups in Week 6 of PAL Football. The Bengals were the only AFC team to notch a victory against the NFC so far this season as they pulled away with a 26-24 victory against the Panthers. The Panthers controlled most of the game as Robbie Neal pulled in two touchdown passes and picked another one off in the endzone. Chris Robinson also returned an interception the length of the field, as Jacob Hudson threw two picks in the endzone throughout the contest. The Panthers carried a 24-6 lead with ten minutes left, but the Bengals defense completely shut the Panthers down the rest of the way. Luke Perrone hauled in his first of two touchdown catches to reacquaint the Bengals with the endzone. The dominant defense of the Bengals continued to shut down the Panthers offense as Luke Wilhelm picked off a pass to set up another Hudson to Perrone score. Anthony Barbieri then took the game winning score in with one minute left to propel the Bengals into first place in the AFC.
The Falcons continued their dominance against the Titans, souring to a 47-19 victory. James Hamory of the Falcons threw four touchdowns and ran for two more as one came on a tricky hook-and-ladder play in the end of the first half. The Titans held a lead until the final seconds before the first half, as Hamory threw a bomb to Michael White for a last second score. Alec Bottari scored all three touchdowns for the Titans.
The Bears clinched at least second place with a dominating victory over the winless Jets, 51-32. The Jets jumped out to an early lead as Samantha Dunford scored her first touchdown of the season. Unfortunately for the Jets, it was all Bears from there. Garrett Scott scored two touchdowns in the first half, one off an interception, while Dallas Towner added another interception return for the Bears. The scoring continued from there for the Bears, as Ryan Shaver, Devin McDowell, Colby Bidgood, Ryan Willams, and David Towner each added a score during the contest. The Jets offense was able to move the ball well in the second half, as Andrew Chin-A-Loy connected with Jake Somerville three times in the second half for touchdowns.
In the final game, the Saints handled the AFC-leading Colts, 48-42. Chandler Armstrong contributed six total touchdowns for the Saints as they seemed to stay one step ahead throughout the game. The Colts hung in with the shifty running of Sean Regan and Nick Salameda, but fell short in the end.
With the season boiling down to the last week before playoffs, four teams will play multiple games in order to make up the games that were postponed due to the blizzard in February. The Bengals can steal first place in the AFC with a victory in both of their games this week. The Falcons can also seal the NFC with one win in either of their games, as they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Bears. Here is this week's schedule:
