The previously undefeated Falcons met their match as the first place AFC Colts won a thriller to end the Falcons bid at a perfect regular season, 40-28. The Falcons carried a 22-8 lead into halftime, but the Colts completely dominated the second half, only allowing one Falcons touchdown. The Colts took a 28-22 lead following three straight scores, but the Falcons' James Hamory threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game with less than 3:30 left in the half to tie the score at 28. Quarterback Andrew Collier then marched the Colts offense down the field, finally punching it in on his fifth touchdown pass, this one to Daniel Berg, with 0:18 left on the clock. The Falcons nearly scored as time expired, but Elliott Gray came out of nowhere for the Colts to intercept Hamory's pass and return it the length of the field to end the game.
In game two on Thursday, the Panthers formidable defense trounced the Titanson their way to a 40-28 victory. Robbie Neal and Jah'Mere Oakley each added a pair of scores, both recording one on an interception return and the other on the receiving end of a Chris Robinson touchdown pass.
The Saints were on the winning end of yet another thriller, winning in overtime 51-50 against the Jets. Andrew Chin-A-Loy rallied the Jets several times to come from behind, finally tying the game to send it into overtime. The Jets were able to score on fourth down, but unable to convert the extra point in overtime. The Saints then scored quickly and were able to convert the extra point try, giving them their fifth victory of the season.
The Bears recorded their sixth win of the season as they handled the Bengals, 37-20. The Bears defense seemed to be too much for the Bengals, holding them to their second lowest point total this season. Garrett Scott led the defensive charge, returning an interception for a touchdown early on. Devin McDowell added a pair of touchdowns for the Bears in their win.
