Only one team remains undefeated as week 4 of the PAL Flag Football season is in the books. The 4-0 Colts battled with the 2-2 Cowboys the entire game, eventually pulling out a last second win 39-38. The Cowboys dominated the first half as Jon Roberts scored 3 touchdowns, 1 receiving, 1 rushing and 1 passing, and later added another receiving touchdown in the second half. Dallas Towner helped lead his Colts offense, and defense, as he returned two interceptions for touchdowns at the start of the second half to put the Colts up 33-18. The Cowboys responded with three unanswered touchdowns, as Richard Annan secured his second of the day with under one minute remaining in the contest. The Colts proceeded to move the ball down field and as time expired, Dallas Towner found Sebastian Stevens for the second time of the game wide open in the corner of the end zone to secure the untarnished 5-0 record and first place spot in the PAL league.
The Eagles bounced back from a two game skid, winning both contests this week against the second place 49ers and Ravens. Luke Wilhelm scored a pair of touchdowns through the air while Daniel Berg ran for another, but it was not enough for the 49ers to surpass the Eagles offense. Ryan Williams connected on 4 touchdown passes in the game, 2 of which went to Moses Carter. The Eagles were able to halt the 49ers last efforts on their last drive, securing a 31-25 victory.
In the nightcap on Thursday, the Eagles offense exploded, winning a shootout against the Ravens 54-38. Zach Orendorf and Brendon Poulson both scored a pair of touchdowns for the Ravens, but the Eagles took over in the second half. Ryan Williams threw four touchdown passes, connectingwith Robbie Stofa twice. Adrian Cropper recorded an interception and scored four total touchdowns and returned an interception on a two point conversion, helping propel the Eagles to a victory.
Week 5 has several key match ups, as the Cowboys face both the Eagles and the 49ers to determine who will pull away from the pack in the middle of the division. The Colts will try to stave off defeat once again against the up and coming Ravens.
